Welcome to the Troop 115 website!

Our Troop is located in Crofton, Maryland and is part of The Capital District in the Baltimore Area Council. Troop 115 is an active Boy Scout Troop with an emphasis on the outdoors while supporting the Aims of Scouting: moral character development; citizenship training; and development of physical, mental, and emotional fitness. This is accomplished through the Scout (Patrol) method, with variations that are designed to be appropriate for the age and maturity of each membership division.

We currently have over 50 Scouts divided into 6 patrols. Each patrol leader is responsible for helping develop, encourage and train the younger Scouts in his patrol. As the boys progress in knowledge and skills they each will take on various roles in keeping the Troop running. Our Troop is also supported by over 25 registered adult leaders and we are gratefully sponsored by Prince of Peace, Crofton MD. We meet at Community United Methodist Church in their Fellowship Hall each Monday night at 7:00pm - 8:30pm except for the second Monday of each month which is set aside for the Patrol Leaders Council.

Each month, the Troop has an outdoor expedition, which usually consists of a 2-night camping trip. Typically we depart on Friday evenings around 5:30pm and return back to CUMC early Sunday afternoon. We try to keep our trips less than 2 hours driving time away. Each year, in June, the Troop attends a BSA summer camp for one week. Additionally, the Troop attends one of the four High Adventure camps offered to Scouts (Sea BasePhilmontSummit, and Northern Tier). In 2022, the Troop attended Sea Base Adventure in Key West, FL.  The Troop is preparing a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in the Cimmaron Mountains of New Mexico in the summer of 2023. Some of our more recent expeditions have included caving, the National Zoo, climbing at Broadcreek Scouting Reservation, and the troop favorite: YURTS trip -  troop level Youth Leadership Training at Henson Scout Reservation.

Each Scout should strive to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. As a Troop, we will provide the opportunities and foundation for success for every Scout as they work toward this goal, although, there is much more to Scouting than earning the Eagle rank.
